The toughest thing about cultivating new practises that really do serve you, is actually doing them. 😉
And when it comes to sleep, 💤 I know what it’s like to feel wired at night. You’re finally feeling the best you’ve felt all day, and you’re not willing to hit the sack just yet. 🛏️
A major factor in this, is the stress hormone, cortisol.
If you’re wired at night, 🧐 it’s likely because you’ve been in stress mode far too often day after day, and it’s not working in the way that it should be, keeping you wired at night and tired in the morning, when it should be the other way around.
✅ However, cultivating a pre-bed practice that really does help you wind down, is going to mean you have a much greater chance of getting the rest of your health to follow suit.
✅ Getting your nervous system into calm mode in the hour before sleep is going to be a game changer for you. So turn off that technology at least 1 hour before sleep and try:
🔶 A warm magnesium bath (not too hot).
🔶 A legs up the wall yoga pose.
🔶 Or a calming herbal tea and reading something that doesn’t overstimulate your brain.
💖 If you’re having a really tough time cultivating new habits, and stuck in a pattern of not being able to sleep properly, then I invite you to download my 3 part video series, Break From Burnout”. You’ll find tips there on all aspects relating to recovering from burnout, including sleep.
