I’ve been clarifying more and more recently, about what the keys really are for those that successfully get to the other side of burnout, and I feel it comes down to two main things.
1) Getting to the bottom of why the burnout occurred in the first place and being prepared to work through the emotions and old patterns that have contributed to this.
2) Learning and practicing new ways to deeply relax and restore your stressed body (most likely in a way that you have not ever experienced before) allowing your body to come into its innate healing ability from its powerful relaxation response.

It goes even further than this, however. While these above two things will take you a long, long, way in your recovery, what I have noticed over many years now of supporting people with burnout, is that the majority of people are not actually doing these two steps consistently.
And I have discovered one of the biggest reasons is this ….
You are trying to do it alone.
And it makes sense, so many of you are over givers and people pleasers, just as I was. I’m not saying this to shame you, but to help to bring you to an even greater level of awareness with what’s not working for you. I really do get it, and this is at times, something I still work through.
I understand that it can feel unnatural to ask for what you need and to get support with what you need, because you have spent so long feeling like you are a burden if you do.
BUT – how many years or even decades do you want to struggle with feeling fatigued and burnt out for?
It’s awful, I know. Remember, I was there too.
I know I’m being direct, but quite honestly, I don’t want you to stay in this conundrum for the rest of your life, being apathetic to what you truly need.
