You may well be saying right now “Lisa, are you kidding me!”
The benefits of burnout. “This has been one of the worst things that’s ever happened to me.”
I know this can sound like an awful thought, but honestly there were things that you were doing leading up to this that were simply not right for you, perhaps many things.
It may be that:
⭕You were doing a job that literally sucked the life out of you.
⭕You were in a relationship (or perhaps still are) that was emotionally and/or physically abusive.
BUT it could also have been the supposedly “smaller” things like:
⭕not getting time for yourself to simply be, always being there for everyone else.
⭕Drowning under the weight of mothering, feeling unsupported and not getting enough rest from your children’s needs and demands
These situations, while very challenging to deal with, have also likely got you to the point of saying “ENOUGH!” and which have prompted you to start the journey of living your life differently, in a way that does support you.
The burnout is the symptom, it’s the outcome of all that has gone on.
NOW it’s time for you to get to the root of what created it.
✅ What have you learned so far from this experience?
✅ What are you willing to do differently moving forward?
These are the types of questions that are going to get you to the other side.
