Adrenal fatigue symptoms can be tough to deal with and unfortunately one of the knock on effects is that because your cortisol functioning may be affected, there can be an effect on how well your immune system is supporting you.
A common effect is having to deal with frequent respiratory type viruses and this on top of the other debilitating symptoms that you may already be dealing with can make for a really unpleasant time. (more…)
As I walked back to my car at a local shopping centre one afternoon, I was pained to see the ravages of addiction on a young woman’s face. I was also reminded not to judge her for the majority of us live with some form of addictive behaviour/s we are trying to come to terms with.
Some addictions are simply more visible on the outside, such as obesity or drug and alcohol addiction, but this is not to say that they are supposedly better or worse than those that are more hidden. (more…)

There is so much misunderstanding out there about what relaxation really means and I’d like to clear a few things up.
In the work I have done as a massage therapist and also in helping people to get relief from stress, adrenal fatigue and burnout, I regularly ask people what they do to relax.
The 3 most common responses I hear are
- watching some tv in the evening
- nothing – I don’t have time.
The responses very much in the minority are things like
- restorative yoga

Dealing with adrenal fatigue symptoms can be a particularly rough time in the health journey of your life. Some days and moments can feel absolutely debilitating. I know how hard this can be, I was there in the throws of severe adrenal fatigue a few years back.
Adrenal fatigue can be a double edged sword at times. It starts with the stress in your body creating one or more symptoms and the effects of those symptoms in turn creating further stress on your body, creating a vicious cycle. (more…)
